The right Computer Science teacher does more than explain the syllabus. They identify where understanding breaks down — and rebuild it properly.

Lessons are planned around one student. We begin by finding what is actually causing marks to be lost — a misunderstood concept, a gap in programming fluency, or examination technique that does not match what the mark scheme rewards. From there the teaching is built specifically for that student's syllabus, level and timeline.

Teaching material, question sets and worked solutions are written for the specification the student is assessed against, rather than adapted from a generic worksheet.

Meet Riya Mahato

I have spent over eleven years teaching Computer Science to students following international curricula — IBDP, Cambridge, AP, OCR, AQA and Pearson Edexcel. That covers both halves of the subject: the programming students either enjoy or quietly avoid, and the theory that decides a large share of the final paper.

I teach one-to-one, so a lesson is built around a single student's syllabus, gaps and examination calendar. Parents usually come to me at one of two moments: when a capable student has started losing marks they cannot explain, or when a student has decided Computer Science is not for them. Both are usually traced back to one concept that was never properly built.

I don't want students memorising Computer Science. I want them to understand why the code works.

How lessons are structured

01

Understand

Build genuine conceptual understanding.

02

Apply

Translate concepts into algorithms, programs and examination responses.

03

Perform

Develop technique, accuracy and confidence under examination conditions.

Let's understand what your child needs.

Tell me their curriculum, current level and where they are struggling. We can begin with a short conversation before deciding whether lessons are the right fit.

Tell me where your child is right now.

This is a short academic snapshot, not a generic contact form. In about a minute, you can give me enough context to make our first conversation useful from the start.

What this helps me understand

  • The curriculum and stage your child is at
  • Where marks or confidence are being lost
  • What you would most like to improve
  • How soon you are looking for support

What information you may provide

Depending on what you choose to enter, this may include a parent or guardian name, student first name, country, curriculum, grade or year, learning requirements, WhatsApp number, email address and approximate tutoring budget.

How it is used

Information is used to respond to your tutoring enquiry, understand the student’s requirements, discuss availability and arrange lessons where appropriate.

Website form

The consultation form itself does not save submissions to a website database. After validation, it prepares a WhatsApp message on your device. Your information is sent only if you choose to send that message.

Budget currency check

To check the hourly-budget threshold, the website requests a reference exchange rate using only the selected currency code. Names, contact details, written answers and budget amounts are not sent to the exchange-rate service.
